Deviant SynCast is Stupid
This week's edition of Deviant SynCast is brought to you by: Negativland. Give up!
Aid and Lies
I finished writing my memoir of the Timor trip, but it's not online yet. (Ha, ha. Those who didn't make it to the party last night missed out on more than just foot lice.) But it'll be up soon. In it, I deal with aid to East Timor, and it just so happens that the Pakistan English-language publication DAWN had a recent editorial about aid, which you should read.
The G8 agreed to increase aid from rich countries by $48bn a year by 2010. When Tony Blair announced this to parliament, he said that "in addition ... we agreed to cancel 100% of the multilateral debts" of the most indebted countries. He also stated that aid would come with no conditions attached. These were big claims, all of which can now be shown to be false.TimeWaster™

Back with a (Video) Vengeance
Boo-ya-kaa! Here it is -- bam! We finally got settled into the new place, and I got time to put together something special for everyone who's been so patient: The first ever Deviant VidCast! [QuickTime, 19.26 MB]
That's right -- it's a one-shot video presentation of the SynCast. It's way small (visually), so your best bet is to download it and watch it full-screen on your media player.
The VidCast includes:

Tried posting this earlier, didn't go up for some reason. Moving. More when we're set up.
Got home safe. Crazy, fun, wonderful trip. Many pix up soon. Writing big thing which will go on Just Text. Very tired. Been awake for 30+ hours now. Unable to write sentences with subject. More soon. Homer sleep now.
